Each partnership has reflected our core mission: to bring clean water, sanitation, and hygiene to communities that need it most. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to support this important work—and to walk alongside organizations that share our vision for a healthier, more equitable world.

Different Approaches. One Shared Mission
The work of UNICEF, WaterAid, and charity: water all aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation for All. But each organization takes a unique approach—meeting urgent needs, building sustainable systems, or creating scalable, community-led solutions.

UNICEF: Supporting Children in Crisis
For 11 years, Operakällaren Foundation proudly supported UNICEF’s WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) programmes. Their focus? Protecting children’s health and dignity—especially in schools, health centers, and during emergencies.
UNICEF’s approach:
- Delivers clean water in crisis situations
- Installs toilets and safe sanitation systems
- Promotes hygiene practices like handwashing
- Collaborates with governments, communities, and schools worldwide
UNICEF acts fast when disaster strikes—making sure children have access to clean water and a safe environment when they need it most.
WaterAid: Building Long-Term Solutions
In 2018, our partnership shifted to WaterAid, an organization committed to building long-lasting WASH infrastructure, particularly in East Africa.
WaterAid’s approach:
- Provides clean drinking water and sustainable sanitation
- Strengthens systems through collaboration with local partners
- Leads programmes like SusWASH for long-term change
- Works closely with communities to create lasting impact
WaterAid brings a deep, systems-based perspective to WASH—focusing on what it takes to make clean water access truly sustainable over time.

Today, we are thrilled to support charity: water, an organization that combines innovation, transparency, and community empowerment to bring clean water to people in need.

- Empowers local communities to maintain their own water systems
