We are providing clean water in Ethiopia

We are very proud and honoured to through this year’s event be able to support WaterAid’s important work in Ethiopia , providing more people in the country with clean water.
Ethiopia is one of the countries in the world where most people today do not have access to clean water. Of the country’s 99 million inhabitants, almost half (over 40 million people) lack basic access to clean water.

The consequences are catastrophic, especially for children. Every year, approximately 8 500 children in Ethiopia die of diarrhoea caused by drinking dirty water., This number is comparable to all the children in 550 Swedish kindergarten classes. Every year.

This ongoing catastrophe is impossible to ignore. We can and we will change this! And we are doing it through WaterAid.

WaterAid has worked in Ethiopia since 1991, and is the only international organisation in the country that focuses specifically on water, sanitation and hygiene.

Funds raised from this year’s Operakällaren Foundation will mostly go to a new project in the Amhara region, that WaterAid is just about to start. WaterAid will drill wells and install water systems in communities, schools and hospitals, thus changing and saving thousands of lives.

Clean water changes everything, and we hope that you will join us!

As usual, this year's banquette will feature, world-class entertainment! The artist of the evening is none other than singer and actor Robert Davi, who has starred in films such as Die Hard, and is also internationally renowned for his versions of Frank Sinatra's greatest hits.

In previous years, Operakallaren Foundation has had the pleasure of featuring artists such as Angélique Kidjo, Timbuktu, Miriam Bryant, Sabina Ddumba, Orup, Sarah Dawn Finer, Stephen Simmonds, Jennifer Brown, Carola, Tommy Körberg and Erik Segerstedt.
